I don't know about you, but Lamborghini has always been a personal favorite of mine. Since I was a child I have always dreamed of owning one. From the Countach, to the Diablo, Murcielago, Gallard, Huracan, and Aventador, I love them all! This past weekend at Monterey Car Week in California, Lamborghini unveiled the next generation of their top of the line Aventador, the Aventador SVJ. This also included the SVJ 63, which will be a limited run, higher horsepower version, of the regular SVJ, but still having the V12 everyone will love.
And now for some numbers...
Horsepower and Torque
The Aventador SVJ has a staggering 759 horsepower. As for torque, the engine makes 531 pound-feet of torque with a weight of only 3,362 pounds. This gives you a power to weight ratio of 1 horsepower for every 4.4 pounds.
All of this translates to a Nürburgring time of 6:44.97. Track times are great for comparison, but I am sure you are asking: What is the top speed? What is the 0-6? Well let me tell you. As for top speed, it can hit 217 mph, which is the current top speed of the Aventador S, which leads you to believe Lamborghini focuses more on the handling of this car as opposed to worrying too much about increasing the top speed. For the 0-60, we are talking only 2.8 seconds!
Getting a ride in one of these would be an amazing experience, while getting behind the wheel would be an absolute dream! Reading and writing about this car makes me wish I became a test driver for a living, how much fun would that be?
Like most cars in this class, only 900 will be made, and most likely they will be sold out before they are ever available to commoners such as us (or if you aren't a commoner and are getting one let me know!).
